Three World Records to be Set at Maha Kumbh on February 24-25

(Prayagraj): Three World Records to be Set on February 24 and 25 at MahaKumbh, Guinness World Records Team to Arrive Tomorrow

Three world records are set to be made on February 24 and 25. These records were originally scheduled for February 14-17, but the dates were extended due to the large crowds. One record was already set on February 14 when 300 sanitation workers carried out a river cleaning campaign.

The Guinness World Records team will arrive tomorrow, February 22, to witness these record-breaking events. Preparations have been completed by the Prayagraj Mela Vikas Pradhikaran. In 2019, three world records were also set during the Kumbh Mela. Since the MahaKumbh began on January 13, over 580 million devotees have taken a dip at the Sangam.

The three records to be set are:

1. On February 24, 15,000 sanitation workers will conduct a cleaning campaign along a 10-kilometre stretch, setting a world record.
2. On February 25, a world record will be set for 10,000 hand prints.
3. On the same day, 550 shuttle buses will operate instead of the previously planned 1,000 e-rickshaws due to crowd management issues.

The operation of e-rickshaws will be replaced by shuttle buses running along the highway to accommodate the massive crowd.

MahaKumbh has now become the largest human gathering in the world and has been declared an intangible cultural heritage. It has surpassed all other events with over 580 million attendees, a record that has never been achieved before. Along with these records, there are four more world records expected to be set.

In 2019, a similar world record was set when 10,000 sanitation workers worked together with brooms. The Prayagraj Mela Vikas Pradhikaran is now aiming to break that record with 15,000 workers.

The operation of 550 shuttle buses will take place along the Triveni Marg at the Parade Ground in place of 1,000 e-rickshaws. Due to the large crowds, the use of e-rickshaws was deemed unfeasible.

The MahaKumbh started on January 13, and as of now, over 580 million people have attended the event to bathe at the Sangam. On February 25, a world record for 10,000 hand prints will also be set.

The final bathing festival will take place on February 26 during Maha Shivaratri, with the number of devotees expected to surpass 600 million. The government had estimated that around 450 million devotees would attend.
